Utilization
3D models offer an unprecedented understanding of complex anatomy, critical for carrying out high-risk, complex procedures.
Our program’s highlights since August 2018 include:
- Over 500 3D modeling cases
- Over 250 3D-printed medical models that assist surgical or other procedural planning
- 2 intraoperative EchoPixel cases
- Assistance with out-of-state or international referrals
- Virtual ventricular assist device placement (a first for UCSF)
- Creating models for percutaneous procedure planning – models that allow our Interventional Radiology specialists to pre-shape catheters for challenging anatomies
- Ex-utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) procedure planning for high-risk fetal cases
We have active collaborations with a growing number of subspecialties throughout UCSF, including:
- Orthopaedics
- Pediatric Cardiology
- Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Adult Cardiology
- Plastic Surgery
- Interventional Radiology
